Environmental Commitment

At CGM our business revolves around looking after the environment ­ and we strive to do so in every way. We operate systems that ensure that our members of staff comply with local policies and we continually endeavour to increase our knowledge and understanding of the natural environment.

To minimise damage to surrounding areas, we can use compact, powerful and unique machinery, especially designed for awkward tasks. All our machines are regularly serviced and maintained to ensure they are running efficiently and emissions comply with recommended levels. All the oils used in our cutting machines are biodegradable which eliminates the issues of safe disposal of waste oil and where possible we ensure that we recycle all waste materials.

Our brushwood, for example, is chipped to produce a highly effective mulch for gardens or removed and similarly, leaves and grass clippings are composted and recycled into mulch. This can be used in place of chemicals to retain valuable moisture and suppress weed growth.

As part of our continual commitment to improving our working practices, we are currently working towards the internationally recognised ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standards.
