Health and Safety

CGM is fully aware of Health and Safety obligations and at all times ensure that these are met and where possible exceed the standards set. All staff are trained and are fully qualified to work all machinery and all have a good understanding of Health and Safety. All tasks and jobs have Risk Assessments and Method Statements which are kept up to date at all times - these are available to the staff at any time and can also be inspected by the client.

As part of our continual commitment to improving our working practices, we are currently working towards the internationally recognised ISO 9001 Quality Assurance Standards and have recenty been recognised under the Contractor Health and Safety Assessment Scheme. The Management Team are fully trained and boast the knowledge and expertise to supervise projects effectively and safely. As part of the Construction Industry Scheme staff also hold the CSCS in Health and Safety operations.

All our staff are trained and fully qualified to operate the machinery they use in their work, including APAF certificate in operating platforms safely. Only National Proficiency Tests Council (NPTC) qualified staff are allowed to carry out work that involves the use of pesticides, chainsaws and flailing machines. We are fully insured, holding £5 million public liability Insurance and £10 million employers¹ liability insurance. All our horticultural staff have the relevant NVQ qualifications.
