This public space was poorly maintained before CGM were appointed 3 years ago to improve its appearance through the implementation of a strategic garden maintenance and development plan. The transformation has been so successful that the garden recently won sponsorship to support the ongoing upkeep of the area.
CGM has worked closely with Thetford Town Council to transform the Kings House Gardens into an enjoyable public space which is now used regularly for public events and weddings. Initially we had to clear approximately 20 tonnes of compost which had accumulated on the site before we could start to revitalise the garden. We have created a number of rose beds and re-established the annual flower beds where we now plant around 3500 plants twice a year. The CGM ironworks team also constructed and installed a rose arch and tunnel which is popular for wedding photos.
There are a number of mature specimen trees within the garden including a variegated tulip tree and a Magnolia Grandi Flora – the CGM team has carried out regular treeworks in line with health and safety reports including crown lifting and coppicing.
