The CGM Group (CGM) stepped in to deliver a mental health wellbeing garden for the students and staff of Longsands Academy, St Neots after they were let down at the last minute. The layout of the garden was created by a former student of the Academy, after a competition was held to win the chance to design the space.
The focus of the garden is for students and staff to have a quiet safe space which they can go and enjoy whilst focusing on their mental health and at the same time be outside amongst nature.
Due to the size and nature of the works CGM utilised three departments during the works, grounds maintenance, arboriculture and landscape construction alongside support from our suppliers, British Sugar Topsoil, Marshalls Slabs, Downham Home and Garden and GAP Plant Hire.
Works carried out included landscaping of the area, paving, turfing, tree pruning and planting were completed free of charge and to a tight deadline ready for the students to enjoy during the summer months.
Neil Owen, Principal of Longsands Academy said: “As a community we are extremely grateful to CGM for helping us to create a wellbeing garden for our students and staff.”
Marcus Glover, Operations Director for CGM added: “We were delighted to be approached by Longsands Academy to deliver such a worthwhile cause, we have enjoyed a close working relationship with the Academy whilst working on the grounds maintenance. The students and staff now have somewhere to sit and reflect whilst enjoying the nature surrounding them.
