CGM Group, a commercial landscaping company based in Downham Market, has won the Pro Landscaper Apprenticeship Scheme Award in London this month.

The national Pro Landscaper business awards, hosted by Radio 2 news presenter Tina Daheley, were held at East Wintergarden in Canary Wharf, London. Over 300 people attended the awards ceremony which shines a light on businesses that are raising the standard of the UK landscaping sector.

Marcus said, “We’re over the moon at winning this award. It’s great recognition for the value CGM Group places on apprentices and how we support them. We feel apprenticeships are vital to the success of our recruitment strategy.”
CGM Group currently employs over 200 people in the Midlands and East of England. Each year the company offers 15 to 20 apprenticeships in a variety of roles including landscaping, workshop mechanics and office support.
Marcus has first-hand knowledge of the apprentice scheme, as he completed his apprenticeship at CGM Group.
“I’ve benefitted from undertaking an apprenticeship and would strongly recommend it to other people. It’s a great way to gain skills, training and experience to help progress your career,” said Marcus.
The CGM Group apprentice scheme encourages apprentices to create a professional development plan and undertake internal and external training through workshops and practical demonstrations. Apprentices are also invited to talks by senior site supervisors, and have regular meetings with their line manager to check their development.
