We firmly believe that the secret to a healthy lawn is carrying out our annual lawn care programme.
CGM Group offers a complete Fine Turf lawn care treatment service for any type of lawn.
Our annual Fine Turf lawn care programme provides a combination of weed control, moss control and the application of nutrient treatments. It usually consists of 7 visits at the correct time of year to give the lawn a balance to keep it looking green and healthy. Lawn treatments start from a little as £20.00 per treatment depending on the size of the lawn.
We will create a bespoke plan to suit your individual requirements and offer 3 levels of Lawn care packages, Bronze Silver and Gold, all at very competitive prices.
Using specialised treatments, we will ensure your lawn looks the very best throughout the seasons and your turf remains in fine condition.
In addition to our annual Fine Turf lawn care programme we can also recommend additional mechanical treatments which again, at the correct time of year will benefit the lawns health.
Scarification is a mechanical operation which helps to remove all unwanted organic matter from around the base of the grass plant (thatch) and tidy up any straggly growth from your lawn. The process will also remove moss that will otherwise choke the grass plant and restrict growth.
Aeration involves piercing the lawn to allow water, oxygen, fertilisers and other nutrients to penetrate the soil more effectively and reach the grass roots.
There are two main types of aeration that are a benefit to the lawn. Solid tine aeration, which aids the development of the grass plant, and hollow core aeration which facilitates the application of a top dressing and improves drainage.
This is particularly effective at the beginning and end of the growing season.
Re seeding is known in the lawn treatment industry as over-seeding. Reseeding or over-seeding is where you apply grass seed to your existing grass, to fill in any bare patches within the lawn and is one of the quickest ways to rejuvenate your lawn. Reseeding not only improves the look of your lawn, but it also improves the quality of the grass; supporting it against lawn diseases in the autumn and winter.
Moss is something that every lawn will have to deal with at one time or another. Moss will manifest itself as a non-flowering plant and will choke the grass, as well as starving it of the required nutrients. There are various reasons for the build-up of moss in a lawn, however, damp and shaded areas are at most risk.
There are a number of grass pests that are common in the UK. A grass pest is a creature that lives within the grass and feeds on the grass plant. Many pests feed on the root of the plant which causes a rapid deterioration in the condition of your lawn, causing large areas of discoloured grass and potentially a dead lawn.
Grass plants need nutrition, and they absorb their nutrients through their root system. Therefore, a good soil that is rich in nutrients is essential for a healthy lawn. Fertilisation is a lawn treatment that provides, or supplements, the natural nutrients needed to become a healthy lawn.
